HOLD FAST TO YOUR CROWN
"Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your
crown." Rev. 3:11

"But hold fast what you have till I come."  Rev. 2:25

Part of the Lord's message to the churches in Philadelphia and Thyatira was to hold
fast what was given to them, so no one can take their reward.

In these times of turmoil and testing, we need to hold fast unto Jesus and those
things He has entrusted to us.
Hold fast - the crown He has given you, because it is the crown you will cast before
the throne as the elders cast their crowns before Him (see Rev. 4:10).

IT IS THE CROWN OF  THE OVERCOMERS!

Hold fast to God and in what the Lord has entrusted you with.  The revelations He
has given you, the intimacy you have with Him, and the many battles you have
overcome in Him.  Remain in purity, honesty and integrity.  Also keep your
testimony!

"They overcame him (the accuser of the brethren) by the blood of the Lamb and by the
word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death." Rev. 12:11 (italics
added)

The overcomer's crown is the Greek word "stephanos".  It comes from the word
"steph", which means to "encircle". It denotes a 'victor's crown', the symbol of
triumph.  It's also a token of "public honor" for distinguished service.  This crown is
the crown of crowns; righteousness, honor, glory and life.

Crown of Glory  1 Peter 5:4 , 1 Cor. 9:24-25 (see on left)
imperishable or incorruptible crown - given to believers who run the race and point to Jesus
Crown of rejoicing   1 Thess. 2:19,20  (see on left)

Crown of life  James 1:12 (see on left)  Rev. 2:8-11
referred to as Martyr's crown, endure trials, tribulation, suffering, even death

Crown of righteousness  2 Tim. 4:8 (see on left)

"The bride made herself ready..."  (see Rev. 19:7-8)

The Lord is looking for His bride; those who are desperate for Him and will respond
appropriately to the circumstances, testings and disciplines, presently facing.  Those trials serve as
a refiners fire to refine and prepare us.  The pressures are designed to press us into the image of
Jesus. So do not run from it, but embrace and allow for the fire to burn up the chaff, so that you will
be able
to arise and shine, for the light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon
you.  (see Isaiah 60).

We must return to our first love and do the first works as our only means to
overcoming.  The church at Ephesus was reprimanded, because they left their first
love  (see Ephesians 2:4-5).  They lost the
passionate love for Jesus and left the
sovereign leading of the Holy Spirit.

So did the church at Sardis.  They fell asleep and the Lord told them to awaken.  See
more about it in the article "
Awake".

The wise virgins, who had plenty of oil, qualified themselves as overcomers.  They
knew how to get the oil from Jesus.  The intimacy and hours spent with the Beloved
filled them to overflowing and their heads were anointed with fresh oil
continuously.

Many are pulled here and there and are afraid, because of the influence of others
and what is told in the media!
Instead diligently seek the abiding presence of the Lord and cultivate a sensitivity to
His voice.   As we hear His voice, we can follow His direction and do what He tells us
to do in this hour,

Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life!!!  We must remain in His Life and Light as
He is the Light of the world.  Therefore we will walk in His glory and release His
manifest presence and the atmosphere of heaven wherever we go.

1 Cor. 9:24,25 Do you
not know that those
who run in a race all
run, but one receives
the prize? Run in
such a way that you
may obtain it. And
everyone who
competes for the prize
is temperate in all
things. Now they do it
to obtain a perishable
crown, but we for an
imperishable crown.

1 Thess. 2:19,20 For
what is our hope, or
joy, or crown of
rejoicing? Is it not
even you in the
presence of our Lord
Jesus Christ at His
coming? For you are
our glory and joy.

James 1:12 Blessed is
the man who endures
temptation; for when
he has been approved,
he will receive the
crown of life which
the Lord has promised
to those who love Him.

2 Tim. 4:8 Finally,
there is laid up for me
the crown of
righteousness, which
the Lord, the
righteous Judge, will
give to me on that
Day, and not to me
only but also to all
who have loved His
appearing.

1 Peter 5:1~4 The
elders who are among
you I exhort, I who am
a fellow elder and a
witness of the
sufferings of Christ,
and also a partaker of
the glory that will be
revealed: Shepherd
the flock of God which
is among you, serving
as overseers, not by
compulsion but
willingly, not for
dishonest gain but
eagerly; nor as being
lords over those
entrusted to you, but
being examples to the
flock; and when the
Chief Shepherd
appears, you will
receive the crown of
glory that does not
fade away
