"But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint."- Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

The Lord used this scripture to show me in 1995, that this ministry,  was to be
named  "Soaring Eagle Ministries".
It spoke to me and I realized, we can learn much about the personality traits of
eagles.   In this particular verse I learned the importance on waiting on the Lord,
hoping in the Lord and trusting in the Lord.  Different Bible translations use
either/or: wait, hope or trust in the Lord.

Therefore waiting while soaking in His Presence and learning to cultivate His
manifest glory is a pivotal key to live an overcoming life in Christ Jesus. My article
SOAKING is available for more information and inspiration.

Now I will give you some of the main qualities and traits of the eagle, and then
show you how their qualities  perfectly line up with a Spirit-led life in HIM, which will
reflect in our daily walk as we engage in the supernatural.

Firstly I like to point out how important it is, that an eagle does not just flap its
wings, but he soars.  Eagles are born with heavy wings, and they have to learn
how to fly without flapping their big wings. They have to do this in order to
conserve energy. Eagles can die if they expend too much energy flapping their
wings versus soaring during flight.
Therefore, the eagle learns to wait for wind thermals. A wind thermal is a big gust of
wind that will rise up from the atmosphere.  The eagle soars on this wind thermal,
and it is likened unto the Eagle Christians, who wait upon the Holy Spirit, who is
the wind thermal.   Just like the eagle has to learn how to fly on the wind thermals –
we, as born-again, Spirit-filled Christians, have to learn how to rely on the power of
the Holy Spirit. In other words, we cooperate with the anointing of God.  There is
greatness within us, because we belong to God's kingdom, we are a holy
priesthood and are His beloved children. We are made to be overcomers, because
greater is He who is within us than he who is in the world.

The eagle has two eye lids, one for when he looks down on the ground and the
other eye lid, he puts down when he looks into the sun. The eagle can look right
into the sun.  So can we, as Christians look to the Son of God, who is the Light of
the world.  It is like we do not walk by sight, but by faith and we look up and mount
up close to Jesus Christ.

5 Moses 32:11 Fly with the Eagle, on His wings.
The baby eagles are being pampered, spoon-fed like the Christian babies, but the
time comes when God will start pushing them out of the comfort zone (nest). The
Eaglet's mother will drop them out of the nest, and pick them up if they can't fly yet,
put them back into the nest, just to do it all over again.  She wants them to learn
how to fly.  In the same way, the Father starts taking away our props and asks us
to step into the deep, out of our comfort zone and totally trusting and relying on
Him while doing so.  He is interested in the development of our character and gifts.
The eagle builds his nest on high. He has not many companions and if we radically
life for Jesus we most likely will not have many traveling on the same narrow path.
Prov. 30:19
The eagle is built different, his bones for example, and he has a special built-in
flying technique, Job 39:37 The eagle soars.  He waits on a rock until a current
comes and then he glides and balances his wings in this current. He loves the
storm, where other birds will hide, he reaches even higher heights in the storm.
The wind of the Holy Spirit allows us to soar and will cause us to soar above all
difficulties, anxieties and adversities as we wait upon His leading. We must learn
how to soar above our problems and situations and not to be pulled down by them.

We must remain in the freedom Christ has set us free for Gal. 5:1
The eagle is a clean bird, but when placed into a cage he becomes dirty.  It is the
same for us, we are set free by Jesus and all bondages are removed, we are not
under the law like the Pharisees (see Gal. 5:17).  We walk in the Spirit and not fulfill
the desires of the flesh anymore.  But when we go back to the bondage, we
become filthy again.  When we walk away from His righteousness, our
righteousness is like filthy rags. But remember you are the righteousness of God in
Christ Jesus!

The eagle has one main enemy, the snake, which is our enemy as well: the old
snake, called Satan, who deceives the world.  But they have overcome him by the
blood of the Lamb, and the words of their testimony and did not love their lives
unto death. Revelations 12:11
When the eagle spots a snake, he attacks by air and grabs the snake with his
talons, flying even higher.  Then releases the snake, for it to hit the rock and being
crushed by it!  Our defense is Jesus Christ, the Rock!

When an eagle is hurt, he lays "spread eagle" in the sun.  This is exactly what we
need to do, running to Jesus and remain in His presence.  Seeking Him and
allowing Him to heal our wounds!  Laying in the Son of God, in His manifest
Presence. See Malachi 4: "The Sun of Righteousness will come upon us with
healing in His wings."
Jesus is the Healer of our souls and He is the lover of our souls!
See Psalm 23  "He restores my soul!"

Eagles are very loyal and faithful creatures.  An eagle couple will remain together
for as long as they live.   Bald Eagle courtship involves elaborate, spectacular calls
and flight displays. The flight includes swoops, chases, and cartwheels, in which
they fly high, lock talons, and free fall, separating just before hitting the ground.
Absolutely amazing!

When an eagle is hurt and laying on the ground preparing to die.  The other eagles,
who are free, will release a sound of freedom over the dying eagle to release them.
This is precisely the reason, why we must remain free in Christ.  Galatians 5:1 "It is
for freedom Christ has set us free!" and do not be entangled again with a yoke of
bondage anymore!
Remain free in Christ and release others to soar once again.  Very often in my
travels, the Lord sends me to minister to 5 fold leaders and saints to be freed from
bondages and religion.  Paul said to the Galatians: You foolish Galatians what has
bewitched you?  .. This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by
the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?   Are you so foolish? Having begun
in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh!!! (see Galatians 3)
NEVER try to finish the work done by the Holy Spirit in your own flesh.  Yield to the
Holy Spirit and rest assure, that He who began a good work in you will complete it.
Religious works will not sanctify you!
